For four years, I served as a Machinist Mate aboard a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier in the United States Navy. During this time, I worked in the main engine room, operating complex systems and performing high-level maintenance and inspections. The discipline, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence I developed in the Navy shaped my approach to every role that followed.
Following my military service, I attended San José State University, where I earned a B.S. in Kinesiology and an M.S. in Occupational Therapy. During my studies, I graduated with academic honors, worked with the university’s Human Rights Institute, and presented research at occupational therapy conferences.
Since graduating, I intentionally explored a range of occupational therapy settings to find where I could make the greatest impact. I have found a love for assisting individuals in acute care environments, including rehabilitation and trauma hospitals; however, my greatest passion has always been in preventive care.
These experiences ultimately led me to start my own practice to serve what I believe is one of the greatest gaps in care within our communities—preventive services focused on supporting independence and applying universal design principles so generations of families can live safely in their homes across their lifespans.
